The second international festival of organ music named after Vahagn Stamboltsyan kicks off
With the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and the initiative of the National Chamber Music Center, the second international festival of organ music named after Vahagn Stamboltsyan will be held in Armenia from September to December.
Along with the Armenian organists, Jochem Schurman (Netherlands), Eugenio Maria Fagiani (Italy), Peter Kleinert (Germany), Narine Simonyan (France), Salvatore Pronesti (Italy/Germany) will perform at the festival.
The Armenian organ school will be represented by Anna Bakunts, Karine Hovhannisyan, Harutyun Tagvoryan, Tereza Voskanyan, Hovhannes Manukyan, Armen Aghajanyan, Davit Hovhannisyan, Lusin Sarajyan, Lusine Harutyunyan, Vahagn Margaryan, Marina Nahapetyan, Arpine Harutyunyan and others.
Festival concerts will be held in Yerevan, Kapan, Charentsavan, and Gyumri, concerts dedicated to Komitas and Avet Terteryan will also be held. Classical organ, as well as organ arrangements of Armenian musical gems and organ compositions by Armenian composers, will be played. During the festival, master classes will be held by organists from abroad.
On September 25, at 19:00, the opening concert of the festival dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Komitas will be held at the Chamber Music House named after Komitas.
