Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall's organ to be overhauled and restored
The Government of Armenia will allocate 242 million AMD in the first phase to reconstruct and restore the organ at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. The decision was adopted during today’s Cabinet session through a redistribution of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports’ 2026 budget allocations.

The organ will be overhauled and restored under an agreement between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and the renowned Austrian company Rieger Orgelbau, as well as between the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and the company.

Dismantling and storage of the organ are scheduled for July–August 2026, with technical reinstallation planned for January–February 2027. General tuning is planned for the summer of 2027, with restoration expected to be completed in autumn 2027.

According to the project submitted by the prestigious Austrian company “Rieger Orgelbau” GmbH, the total cost of the organ restoration project is 588.4 million AMD. Financing will be provided in phases, with further allocations envisaged in the Ministry’s 2027–2029 medium-term expenditure program application.
