Winners of International Queen Elisabeth competition announced
French pianist Jonathan Fournel wins the 2021 International Queen Elisabeth Grand Prize - Queen Mathilde Prize Piano Competition and receives € 25,000 and numerous concerts in Belgium and abroad. Sergey Redkin from Russia is the second, Keigo Mukawa from Japan comes third.

The Piano Competition initially scheduled to be held in 2020, had been postponed to May 2021. After many months of uncertainty, the organizers of the competition announced that it will effectively take place.

Unfortunately, the candidates couldn't perform in front of a live audience this year. But all the competition rounds and the two laureates' concerts were broadcast entirely live.

Let us remind you, that  French-Armenian composer Michel Petrossian won International Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2012.
