Baritone Grisha Martirosyan takes second prize at Domingo’s “Operalia”
Yesterday, Placido Domingo’s Operalia competition concluded in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Among the winners is also the representative of Armenia, baritone Grisha Martirosyan. He received the Second Prize alongside the American soprano Natalie Lewis. Additionally, Grisha was awarded the Don Plácido Domingo Ferrer Prize of Zarzuela.

This year’s competition winners are mezzo-soprano Ekaterine Buachidze from Georgia and baritone Mihai Damian from Romania. Soprano Sabina Galimova from Russia and tenor Dave Monaco from Italy finished third.

This year, 32 singers from 17 countries competed. Along with Grisha Martirosyan, Armenia was also represented by soprano Elen Yeghiazaryan.
