Elen Virabyan to perform at "Virtuosi of the Flute" at Mariinsky
The Mariinsky Theatre has announced a double instrumental festival – for the flute and the harp "Virtuosi of the Flute" and "Northern Lyre". It is to run from 7 to 12 April at Mariinsky Concert Hall.
10 years old flutist Elen Virabyan is among the participants of the Gala closing of the 2021 Virtuosi of the flute & Northern lyre festival. Together with Mariinsky Orchestra Elen will perform 1st movement of the Flute concerto in E minor by A. Vivaldi. Conductor: Ivan Stolbov.
Before the pandemic, these festivals, entitled "Virtuosi of the Flute" and "Northern Lyre", were held on an annual basis independently of each other. This year, their founders – orchestra musicians the flutist Denis Lupachov and the harpist Sofia Kiprskaya – have joined forces. Young Armenian musician is the first child, who is invited to perform at the festival.
Elen Virabyan was born in 2010 in Moscow. She studies at Gnessin School of Music (class of Zara Parvanyan). She is a laureate of many international competitions.
