Regional tour of Sergey Khachatryan and ANPO kicks off in September
With support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, led by Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Eduard Topchyan, continues the “Philharmonic in the Regions” program. This initiative is part of events celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia. The goal of the program is to invigorate cultural life in the regions.
Thanks to this initiative, regional audiences have the opportunity to enjoy high-quality classical music performances.
During the regional tours, world-renowned violinist Sergey Khachatryan will perform as a soloist with the orchestra.
The program features Jean Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, the Overture to Giuseppe Verdi’s “The Force of Destiny,” Eduard Harutyunyan’s “Waltz,” and excerpts from Aram Khachaturian’s ballet “Gayane.”
The concerts will take place in several cities across the Lori, Shirak, and Syunik regions of Armenia. A total of six concerts are scheduled as follows:
- September 2, at the Stepanavan Palace of Culture
- September 3, at the Vardan Achemyan State Drama Theater in Gyumri
- September 10, at the Meghri Sports and Cultural Center
- September 11, at the Great Hall of the Kapan Cultural Center
- September 13, at the Vagharsh Vagharshyan State Theater in Goris
- September 14, at the Hamo Sahyan City Cultural Center in Sisian
The concerts in Goris and Sisian are organized with support of ContourGlobal Hydro Cascade Company.
