Jubilee Awards on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the “Akunk” Ensemble
A jubilee concert dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the “Akunk” State Ethnographic Ensemble of Armenia of the National Center of Folk Music and Dance was held at the “Aram Khachaturian” Concert Hall.
During the evening, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Daniel Danielyan presented the gold medal of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Armenia to the co-founder of the ensemble Sargis Baghdasaryan, the third artistic director Sargis Alaverdyan, and musician Gagik Kocharyan.
The soloists of the ensemble Anna Tovmasyan, Narine Zakaryan, Aregnaz Mikayelyan were awarded certificates of honor by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, while Varuzhan Davtyan, Gurgen Hayrapetyan and Gevorg Ghazaryan were awarded certificates of appreciation.
The anniversary concert program included several favorite songs, as well as the ensemble's first pieces added to the repertoire by artistic director Maro Muradyan and current artistic director, Komitas music expert Artur Shahnazaryan.
