The State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia resumes its activities with its entire staff
On February 19 and 20, at 7:00 p.m. at the hall of the Union of Architects of Armenia, the State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia will present a concert entitled "Retro Jazz". A musical journey to the first half of the 20th century, the golden age of great jazz orchestras, will be presented under the direction of the artistic director and conductor of the orchestra Armen Hyusnunts: Duke Ellington, Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey, County Base, Artemi Ayvazyan.

"Of course, it is very difficult to perform the gems of retro jazz in one concert, as the repertoire is large, but the orchestra tried to combine the most famous names. There is a special reference to the Armenian jazz orchestra founded by Artemi Ayvazyan, the continuation of which is our orchestra. An interesting program has been developed, which reflects on both the world and Armenian jazz heritage, ” Armen Hyusnunts says.

According to the concert organizers, during the evening the music will let us look back to the past and It is a unique opportunity to discover the new, the modern, to make sense of it through the re-evaluation of the old.
After a hiatus of almost a year, the orchestra resumes the series of thematic concerts with its concerts in the hall of the Union of Architects of Armenia. Before that, they also tried to keep in touch with the audience through online performances, performing in small groups, observing all the anti-pandemic rules. Now there is an opportunity to perform in a large group, they got the program of this concert by working hard and rehearsing.

In the fall of 2020, the State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia recorded a CD, which will soon be presented to the music-lovers.
