A new cultural space at the Alexander Spendiaryan opera and ballet theatre
The Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet is establishing a new concert venue. The premises formerly occupied by the "Opera Club" will now house the Theatre’s Small Concert Hall.
The concert hall’s opening will be held on November 1, marking the 155th anniversary of the birth of renowned Armenian composer Alexander Spendiaryan, the founder of the Opera Theatre.
Ahead of the opening, a press conference was held at the Theatre, attended by Tigran Virabyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, and Karen Durgaryan, Director of the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The speakers presented the initiative behind the new concert hall, its main areas of activity, and upcoming programs.
The new venue is designed to host chamber concerts, children’s opera and ballet performances, and other cultural events. It will expand the Theatre’s creative activities, introduce new formats for presenting opera and ballet, and foster a more intimate and engaging atmosphere for audiences.
