The world-premiere of "The Color of Pomegranate" dance performance to be held in France
French choreographer Mourad Merzouki's "The Color of Pomegranate" dance performance will be held on January 19 and 20 at "Toboggan" theatre, Decines, France within Sergey Paradjanov's 100th anniversary events. Daniel Danielyan, deputy minister of ESCS will attend the event.
The program is implemented in cooperation with the "Saté-Atre" theater union. French and Armenian artists are included in the program. The performance was inspired by the film "The Color of Pomegranate" by Sergey Paradjanov.
Mourad Merzouki, a well-known French choreographer, collaborated with Saté Khachatryan, artistic director of Saté-Âtre, a company devoted to promoting Armenian culture and French theater in Armenia, to create this choreographic show. Mourad Merzouki made his first trip to Armenia in 2021, at the National Opera and Ballet Theater's invitation, to lead a hip-hop dance workshop. This is where the idea for a show based on Sergei Paradjanov's iconic film arose, as a tribute to the filmmaker on the occasion of his centenary.
