French pianist-improviser Thibaud Mennillo is in Armenia. The Armenian State Philharmonic will host modern pianist and improviser Thibaud Mennillo (France) on April 25 at 7:30 PM at the “Arno Babajanyan” Concert Hall.
Improvisations inspired by the music of Bach, Ravel, Debussy, Messiaen, Komitas, Gurdjieff, Steve Reich, and Keith Jarrett.
Thibaud Mennillo, a contemporary pianist and improviser, is the grandson of the renowned French jazz pianist Roger Mennillo, who was famously described as the “teacher of generations”.
Through his piano improvisations, Thibaud expresses the full range of his inspirations – melodic, polyphonic, and polyrhythmic, often exploring the instrument in surprising and inventive ways.
His compositions take the audience on a sensory musical journey, beyond the notes, into his inner musical universe.
