Tigran Mansurian Cultural Center in Artik is Being Renovated
January 27 marks the birthday of Tigran Mansurian, People’s Artist of Armenia, composer, and recipient of the Order of Honor and the Order of Saint Mesrop Mashtots.

Mansurian’s birthday is an occasion to express gratitude to an artist whose creative presence continually affirms that being national and having a universal resonance are not contradictory, but rather different depths of the same path. His art remains a living pillar of Armenian culture.
In his work, the contemporary is never detached from tradition, while national memory and folkloric foundations are transformed into a language of inner truth.

Mansurian’s compositions have been performed in major concert halls around the world, including London, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Moscow, New York City, Los Angeles, and other cities.

On the occasion of his birthday, on January 28, the concert “Symphonic Mansurian” will take place at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall, initiated by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. The program will feature the composer’s music written for Armenian films and theatrical productions. The partner of the concert is the Armenian Film Foundation.

With the support of the Ministry of ESCS of the Republic of Armenia, the Tigran Mansurian Cultural Center is undergoing major renovation. Built in 1969 and named after the composer in 2017, the estimated cost of the renovation amounts to 112 million 878 thousand AMD.
