Two Armenian singers to compete in Operalia
Placido Domingo's Operalia Competition will be hosted in Cape Town, South Africa, for the 30th time from October 30 -November 5. The famous competition includes two Armenian artists, bass-baritone Hovhannes Karapetyan and baritone Navasard Hakobyan. 34 young vocalists from all over the world will compete for the title of winner.
The competition will be hosted by the Cape Philharmonic and the Cape Town Opera and will be held at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town.
Operalia was founded in 1993 by Plácido Domingo to discover and help launch the careers of the most promising young opera singers of today. Sopranos Juliana Grigoryan and Mane Galoyan are among the laureates of the prestigious competition.
