Komitas Museum-Institute publishes two new books
February 19, the birthday of renowned Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan, is celebrated in Armenia as the Book Giving Day. On this occasion, Komitas Museum-Institute organizes a presentation of two books published by the museum.
“Wedding songs” is the third volume of “1000 and more songs” and is published in collaboration with “Goethe” Centre. The book is compiled by the employees of the scientific department of the museum Lilit Harutyunyan and Astghik Martirosyan.
The second book- “Komitas and its heritage” is a collection of scientific articles, which the museum publishes annually. This volume includes materials presented at the international conference dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Komitas in Berlin. The book is edited by Tatevik Shakhkulyan, the head of the Scientific department of the museum.
The presentation will be followed by a summary of the annual quest organized by the museum-institute (starting from February 8), after which the museum will present the published books to the participants with the most correct answers.
Admission is free.
