Chamber Orchestra of Armenia has new Artistic Director
Vag Papian has been appointed Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia.
Pianist and conductor Vag Papian was born in 1956 in Yerevan into a family of artists. His father, People's Artist of Armenia Anatoly Papian, and his mother, Honored Artist of Armenia Amalia Bayburtyan, profoundly influenced the artistic development of the future musician, fostering an environment of art and culture from an early age.
Having received his fundamental musical education, Papian graduated from the Yerevan P. I. Tchaikovsky Secondary Specialized Music School. He later continued his studies at the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, majoring in piano, where he further refined his performance skills and established himself as a professional pianist.
Pursuing advanced studies in conducting, he also graduated from the Saint Petersburg (then Leningrad) State Conservatory, earning a degree in orchestral conducting.
