Vahagn Hayrapetyan Trio presents a new project in the regions of Armenia
Jazzman, pianist, composer, RA Honored Artist Vahagn Hayrapetyan and Arm.Strong Production present the "Regional JAZZafication" project on August 1-3. It is implemented with the support of the RA Ministry of Education and Science within the "Back is a culture, the border is a center" program. On August 1, the musicians will perform at the Eduard Kzartmyan Music School in Vanadzor, on August 2 at the Art School in the village of Odzun, Lori Region, and on August 3, at the House of Culture in the village of Vahramaberd, Shirak Region.
Within the project, Vahagn Hayrapetyan Trio (Vahagn Hayrapetyan - piano, Makar Novikov - double bass, Arman Mnatsakanyan - drums) will perform both jazz standards and famous folk melodies arranged by Vahagn Hayrapetyan. Mezzo-soprano Varsenik Avanyan, soloist of the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater after A. Spendiaryan, will perform with the trio as a special guest. The singer and the trio will present the masterpieces of Armenian music, arranged specially for the "Regional JAZZafication" project.
Each concert will be accompanied by lectures, in the framework of which the history of the performed works will be presented, the role and significance of those works in the Armenian music will be discussed. After the concert, the artists will gladly answer the audience's questions.
