Gohar Gasparyan Pan-Armenian solo singing competition (Classical singing) was held in Yerevan from November 21 to December 14. It was organized by Armenian Music Society, The Opera and Ballet National Academic Theater named after Alexander Spendiaryan and Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia. This year's competition was dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Professor Gohar Gasparyan, People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of the State Prize. The competition was held to reveal talented singers, promote their professional potential, further their activities and talent, as well as to give a tribute to the Armenian opera artists. The winners of the competition (individual for male and female) awarded prizes and a statue “Gohar Gasparyan” created by Nur. The first prize winners in the male group were Aksel Daveyan and Grisha Martirosyan, in the female group - Elen Yeghiazaryan and Marianna Hovhannisyan. Hovhannes Andreasyan and Tigran Hakobyan shared the second prize in the male group. Lusine Stepanyan was awarded the silver medal in the female group. The third prize took Arsen Gevorgyan, Margarita Sargsyan and Nelly Sargsyan. Vardan Gyodakyan was recognized as the best concertmaster of the competition. In addition to the main prize, the participants were awarded different awards and diplomas. The gala concert of the competition took place on the 14th of December at the Opera and Ballet National Academic Theater named after Alexander Spendiaryan. 28 singers - students of the music, art colleges, State Conservatory, postgraduate students, as well as young artists of the National Opera participated in the competition.
