Open-air ballet festival to be held in Yerevan
“Yerevan Ballet Fest” to be held in Yerevan on June 2-5. For four days Yerevan will be feeling the vibes of classical ballet art. The project is fulfilled due to the Yerevan Municipality initiative. The open-air ballet festival hosts Saint Petersburg Boris Eifman Ballet, Z.Paliashvili Opera and Ballet Theater of Tbilisi and the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after A.Spendiaryan.
According to the head of Yerevan Municipality Culture and Tourism Department Gosh Sargsyan, this year’s festival is unprecedented. The city authorities take all efforts into making high culture more available to people. The head of the Department promises that spectacular ballet fireworks await those who are fond of this kind of art.
This year's implementation of the project was also made possible thanks to the proceeds from the sale of tickets during the tours of the English National Ballet.
Maestro Karen Durgaryan pointed out that the festival is important for the city’s cultural life, particularly considering the free performances.
Yerevan Ballet Days are among the most awaited cultural events.
So, the place of meeting is unchanged – park after Tumanyan. The show starts at 8:00 p.m.
Gosh Sargsyan added that they had prepared a surprise for the audience: special pillows will be handed out to spectators to make the evenings more enjoyable and comfortable.
