“Yerevan” Orchestra unites more than 82 pupils of 24 municipal music and art schools
“Yerevan” Youth Symphonic Orchestra is going to come up with new initiatives. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan and the artistic leader and general conductor of the orchestra Eduard Topchyan had a meeting with young musicians, their parents, and representatives of cultural centres of Yerevan. This important project united more than 82 pupils of 24 municipal music and art schools and about 20 students of other educational establishments.
A task of high responsibility is set before the orchestra thus their day consists of preparations and everyday rehearsals. Led by Eduard Topchyan the young musicians will perform the “Unfinished” symphony by Schubert and 100th symphony by Haydn. The repertoire also includes one of the most complicated pieces of the world music art - Tchaikovsky’s 4th symphony. Negotiations are going on with world-famous violinists Augustin Hadelich and Sergey Khachatryan.
To boost the orchestra’s activity the pupils involved will get exemption from tuition fees, and the teachers will be paid for extra work hours. Within the frames of the project new instruments will be purchased for the young musicians which will relieve the social burden of the participants.
