Yerevan hosts “New European Odyssey” project dedicated to Beethoven’s legacy
A press conference dedicated to the “New European Odyssey” project was held at the A. Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.
The speakers at the press conference were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Daniel Danielyan, General Director of the “Champs-Elysées” Orchestra Jean-Louis Gavatortan, conductor, choirmaster of the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet Narine Voskanyan, conductor Philippe Herweg, Executive Director of the French Institute of Armenia, Cultural Attaché of the French Embassy in Armenia David Turse.
The “New European Odyssey” project was initiated by the “Champs-Elysées” Orchestra (Poitiers, France), the “Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina” Conservatory (Cagliari, Italy) and A. Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater (Yerevan, Armenia). The project is titled “1824–2024|Beethoven and Europe.”
The “New European Odyssey” project is a collaboration between cultural institutions in Armenia, France, and Italy, bringing together musicians and educators from the three countries to celebrate Beethoven’s enduring legacy and redefine his role in contemporary music.
