Yerevan State Chamber Choir awarded the Order of Emperor Constantine the Great in Serbia
With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the Yerevan State Chamber Choir participated in the Music Edict International Festival of Church Music in Serbia.
During the festival, the choir performed twice: at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Niš, Serbia, and the Cathedral of Saint Sava in Belgrade. During the concerts, they performed choral music by Mesrop Mashtots, Komitas, and contemporary Armenian composers. At the end of the festival, the Yerevan State Chamber Choir was awarded the Order of Emperor Constantine the Great and a letter of gratitude.
The Music Edict Festival has been held every two years since 2009, during which participants perform the sacred music of their countries in their native languages. The festival takes place in Niš, the birthplace of Constantine the Great, to highlight its significance as an important center of the Christian world and to build a historical bridge between the East and the West.
