ANPO and Sergey Khachatryan return to Syunik

World-renowned violinist Sergey Khachatryan and the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Eduard Topchjan, are returning to Syunik to transform the grandeur of nature into a symphony of sound.

This tour, part of the "Philharmonic in the Regions" program, is not only a major cultural event but also an important step toward making high-quality classical music accessible in Armenia's regions and enriching their cultural and spiritual life.

The regional tours of Armenia's leading orchestra, acclaimed on prestigious international stages, carry both strategic and symbolic significance. Since 2024, the orchestra's performances in Syunik featuring internationally celebrated violinist Sergey Khachatryan have become a cherished annual tradition.

This year's tour will begin on July 29 with a concert at the Meghri Regional Cultural Center, continue on July 30 at the Kapan Cultural Center, and conclude on July 31 at the V. Vagharshyan State Drama Theatre in Goris. The concerts in Meghri and Kapan are held in partnership with the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine and the Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine.

Audiences will enjoy masterpieces of both international and Armenian classical music, including Max Bruch's Violin Concerto and Aram Khachaturian's incidental music to the drama Masquerade.

For the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and violinist Sergey Khachatryan, performing in Armenia's regions is far more than another concert tour—it is an important mission. Cultural decentralization and the implementation of this kind of project in Syunik, one of Armenia's most strategically and spiritually significant regions, provide local audiences with the opportunity to experience world-class musical performance without leaving their home region.

This year, the "Philharmonic in the Regions" program began in June with concerts in Ashtarak, Vagharshapat, Hrazdan, and Charentsavan, dedicated to the 105th anniversaries of Arno Babajanian and Edward Mirzoyan.
