Biography

Was born in 1987. She started performing at an early age immediately showing a very promising talent. Ani graduated from Tchaikovsky High school with honors. She received diplomas at the undergraduate level and postgraduate level from Yerevan State Conservatoire after Komitas, both with honors. During her years of study at Yerevan State Conservatoire she led various orchestras and chamber ensembles and performed as a recitalist in Armenia and abroad. Ani’s performances have taken her to many countries, including Germany, France, UK, USA, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Scandinavian countries etc. She has participated in many festivals and received masterclasses from Thomas Brendis, Anahit Stakian, Ani Kavafian, Vladimir Ivanov, Elizabeth Weber, Alexander Pavlovic, Mincho Minchev etc. In 2010 Ani was awarded a Raffy Manoukian Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies at the Royal Academy of Music which in 2012 she has completed with distinction. In 2011 she won the first prize in Kenneth Page Foundation's 4th Competition for violinists. In 2012 Ani received the second prize in  The“ Solo Bach Competition” of the North London Festival and a special prize for the best performance of Aram Khachaturian’s “Dance” in Aram Khachaturian International Violin Competition. She has been awarded the AGBU Performing Arts Scholarship, Leverhulme Trust Scholarship, and Benlian Trust Award for an ISP Course at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. In 2013 she completed an Independent Study Programme (ISP) at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance studying with Pieter Schoeman. After graduating from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance Ani moved to Yerevan where she started working in Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra. Ms. Karapetyan currently continues to build up on her career, performing in solo recitals and with various chamber ensembles.
