Biography
Arnold Kocharyan is one of the most prominent baritones of A. Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Academic theatre. He has gained recognition as an artist, which is proved by his premieres and debuts on various international competitions, especially the first place in South Korea and a cup in the USA, in Placido Domingo competition, etc.
In 1974 he graduated from Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, where has been teaching as a docent of the department of solo singing since 2003. His solo career started from the choir of MayrTachar of Etchmiadzin and continued in Yerevan Opera House, where he performed such roles as Silvio (“Pagliacci”), Giorgio Germont (“La Traviata”), Count di Luna (“The Troubadour”), Tatoul (“Almast”) and many more.
Arnold Kocharyan has left his impact in the Mariinsky Theatre of Saint-Petersburg and in Montpellier, Sassari, Lisboa, Toronto as well as among the audiences of other countries’ operas.
