Biography
Eduard Tadevosyan is an Armenian violinist, artistic director and 1st violin of the Komitas Quartet, professor at the Yerevan State Conservatory. Eduard Tadosyan is a graduate of the 10-year professional music school of Yerevan, class of Tatyana Hayrapetyan. While still in school, in 1965 he was awarded the title of laureate of the Young Musicians Competition of the Transcaucasian Republics. Laureate of the Henryk Wieniawski International Competition in 1967 in Poznan, Poland, and the Marguerite Long - Jacques Thibaut International Competition in 1969 in Paris. In 1967 he started his solo career as a violinist.
He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1970 after studying with Leonid Kogan. At his last year in Conservatory, Avet Ter-Gabrielyan invited Eduard to join Komitas Quartet on the second violin. Six years later, Tadevosyan became the 1st violin and currently leads the ensemble.
Eduard Tadevosyan has performed with the quartet in many countries around the world: USA, Canada, Italy, France, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Scotland and elsewhere. As a soloist, his performances also have wide geography: the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Berlin, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia and elsewhere.
Eduard Tadevosyan combines his concert activities with pedagogy, he is a professor at the Yerevan Komitas Conservatory.
