Biography

1983-90 studied in Yerevan musical school #12 after A. Gabrielyan, class of violin. 1993-98 – studied in Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas, department of solo singing, graduating which she continued her postgraduate studies there (class of professor Gohar Galachyan).

Since 1999 has been a soloist in A. Spendiarian Opera and Ballet National Academic theatre.

In 2000 performed Leonora’s piece in Verdi’s opera “The Troubadour” (debut, conductor – O. Duryan).

In 2000-01 she got requalification in the classes of L. Pavarotti and M. Meriggo (Italy) and participated in the courses on vocal improvements of G. Vishnevskaya (Moscow) and N. Figuier (Berlin). Gave solo concerts in Armenia and on many famous stages abroad, including Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (2001, USA), Konzerthaus (2004, Berlin), Nicolaisaal (2004, Potsdam), Handel House (2004, Halle), Siemens-Villa (2004), Doge’s Palace (2005, Italy), Justinian’s Palace (2005, Italy), State Grand concert hall after P. Shostakovich (2009, Saint-Petersburg). In 2005 performed Brahms “Requiem” (conductor – A. Wasserman, Germany).

Since 2006 has been teaching at Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas. Performed pieces from A. Khachaturian’s “Ode to Joy”, Verdi’s “Nabucco”, Bellini’s “Norma”, Schubert’s “Miriam’s Song of Triumph”, Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and other operas. In 2008 founded the “Three Sopranos” project. During the same year participated in Italian-Armenian and Russian-Armenian cultural events.

In 2009 participated in the events dedicated to the Days of Armenian Culture in India, performed during the gala concert in Saint-Petersburg, which was dedicated to the 70th jubilee of Y. Obrazcova (conductor – Giuseppe Sabbatini).

In 2011-12 performed Aida’s piece in G. Verdi’s opera “Aida” (conductor – H. Arzumanyan, 2011), (conductor – K. Dourgaryan, 2012).

In 2011 participated in a Gala concert dedicated to the 140th anniversary of A. Spendiarian.

Has released four CDs in the genre of spiritual and classical music. Has received a number of awards and prizes: first place in “Lisa” charity competition (1995), first place in First republican competition after A. Karapetyan (1996), laureate of A. Davtyan’s and “Huys” awards in “Belcanto” republican competition (1996), Grand Prix in an international competition after Hildergard Pabelic (2000), gold medal for the best performance of Bellini’s “Requiem” (2001).

In 2014 received the title of Honored Artist of RA.
