During the intense concert activity of Hayasa, the RA State Television and Radio Committee Ensemble of Armenian traditional songs and dances in the 90s of the last century, the singer Taliska Hovhannisyan stood out from the soloists of Hayasa by her exceptionally elegant and velvety voice and professional perfection. Armenian traditional songs were revealed in her singing with their purest intonation patterns, free from unnecessary warbling and superfluous outpouring of emotion. Being profoundly aware of the identity of the lyrics and melodizing characteristics of the Armenian songs, she tried to impart to her performances the possible nuances of the lyrics, especially those typical of the Armenian dialects and musical compositions. When offering her a repertoire, we took into consideration Taliska Hovhannisyan’s wealth of knowledge and her meticulous command of the subject matter. Taliska Hovhannisyan’s winsome and elegant appearance and her ability to skillfully master the performing arts greatly contributed to her continuing success on the stage. The singer participated in the scenes presenting the folk songs and dances - often
complemented with staged episodes containing dance moves - both as a soloist and an active participant of choral performances.
