The 8th Mirzoyan Competition to be opened with a symphony concert
The 8th Mirzoyan Competition for Young Composers will be held on May 10-12 in Yerevan. The competition is implemented by the Composers Union of Armenia, with the support of the Yerevan Conservatory, the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, and the ministry of ESCS. It will be opened with a gala concert with the participation of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra (Artistic Director and Principal Conductor: Eduard Topchjan). "Shushanik" and "Tango" by Edward Mirzoyan. Winners of the competition Alexander Harutyunyan and Andrey Kurbet also will perform at the opening concert. 

The competition will take place on May 11 at the Composers Union Concert Hall. Two days later, on May 13, the gala concert of the competition and the award ceremony will take place at the same place. On May 12, on Edward Mirzoyan's birthday, the participants will visit the Komitas Pantheon to pay tribute to the memory of the composer.
