A new postage stamp dedicated to the jubilee of A. Spendiaryan put into circulation
A souvenir sheet with one stamp dedicated to the theme “150th anniversary of Alexander Spendiaryan” has been put into circulation by Haypost. Designer: Rem Sahakyan.
The postage stamp with a nominal value of 890 AMD depicts the founder of the Armenian symphony music, composer, conductor Alexander Spendiaryan (1871-1928). The souvenir sheet depicts the drawings of A. Spendiaryan Opera and ballet theatre, composer's statue, his signature, and mark "150th anniversary" in Armenian and in English. As Spendiaryan's jubilee has been included in the UNESCO calendar of anniversary celebrations for the period of 2020-2021, the official logo of the organization is also included on the bottom of the souvenir sheet.
The postage stamp was canceled yesterday, by the Minister of ESCS of the Republic of Armenia Ara Khzmalyan, Deputy-Minister of High-Technological Industry of the Republic of Armenia Davit Sahakyan, Chief Executive Director of “HayPost” CJSC Haik Karapetyan, Director of A. Spendiaryan House-Museum Marine Otaryan and the president of Armenian Association of philatelists Hovik Musaelyan.
