Armenian Baritone Gevorg Hakobyan to Perform in Puccini Festival

On July 31, the prestigious Giacomo Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago (Italy) will host the second performance of Giacomo Puccini's Tosca, featuring Armenian baritone, soloist of A. Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet Theater, Gevorg Hakobyan in the role of Scarpia.

The leading roles will also be performed by Polish soprano Ewa Płonka as Floria Tosca and acclaimed Italian tenor Vittorio Grigolo as Mario Cavaradossi.

"Internationally acclaimed for his powerful baritone voice and compelling stage presence, Gevorg Hakobyan has appeared on some of the world's most renowned opera stages, including the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the Arena di Verona, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, and the Teatro Regio di Torino.

His extensive repertoire includes some of opera's most celebrated roles, such as Amonasro in Aida, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Paolo Albiani in Simon Boccanegra, and Scarpia in Tosca. The latter is regarded as one of the most complex and compelling characters in the operatic canon, embodying the dark side of power, violence, and unchecked ambition.
