Chelyabinsk Regional Symphony Orchestra to Perform in Yerevan

The Chelyabinsk Regional Symphony Orchestra will perform in Yerevan on September 3 and 4. Under the direction of Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Alexey Rubin, the orchestra will present works by Mozart, Grieg, Dvořák, Saint-Saëns, Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky to Armenian audiences.

The Yerevan concerts will take place as part of cultural cooperation between Armenia and the Chelyabinsk Region. The orchestra’s visit will feature two concerts.

A chamber music concert will be held at the Russian Embassy on September 3. 

The orchestra’s main concert is scheduled for September 4 at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. The program will feature Sergei Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5 and Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. The soloist in Tchaikovsky’s concerto will be pianist Alexander Klyuchko, a laureate of international competitions and winner of the Sergei Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition.

According to Alexey Rubin, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Chelyabinsk Regional Symphony Orchestra, the visit to Yerevan is more than a concert tour and represents an important initiative of cultural exchange.

“This trip is more than just a tour; these concerts are part of a cultural exchange between our countries,” Rubin said.

The orchestra is visiting Yerevan at the invitation of Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. 

“This bridge is very important now. It shows that culture is above everything; it brings people together,” Rubin emphasized.

The Chelyabinsk Regional Symphony Orchestra was founded seven years ago and has been actively engaged in concert activities in recent years. Its Yerevan performances mark another important stage in the ensemble’s international cultural cooperation.
