Concert-exhibition dedicated to Lazar and Martiros Saryans tool place in London
On October 15, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London an exquisite concert-exhibition dedicated to composer Lazar Saryan and painter Martiros Saryan took place in Our Lady of Victories Church.
The event was organized by Klingen Choir and Cultural Association under the auspices of the Embassy of Armenia to the UK. The concert was organized by the conductor, tenor and pianist Sipan Olah (UK-Armenia).
Lazar Saryan’s music and Martiros Saryan’s artworks were presented in the UK for the first time during this memorable event.
Picture replicas were sent by Sofya Saryan from the house-museum of Martiros Saryan in Yerevan and presented at the event in cooperation with Sipan Olah from KCCA London.
Greetings and welcoming speeches were delivered by Monsignor Jim Curry of Our Lady of Victories church and his Excellency Varuzhan Nersesyan the Ambassador of Armenia to the UK.
Trustees of the Armenian Community Council in the UK, representatives of the UK Parliament, chairmen of a number of Armenian and British organizations in the UK, musicians from the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music in London, representatives of the Royal Academy of Arts and galleries in London attended the concert-exhibition. Besides, Joanne Zoryan Lynn, Hagop Jack Mouradyan, Maria Palazian, Polina Sharafyan, Narine Malkhasyan, Hayarpi Yeghikyan performed in the concert.
One of the missions of this event was to promote the musical heritage of Lazar Saryan in the UK.
