Avet Terteryan's "Soma. Ring of Fire opera to be dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Yeghishe Charents
The premiere of Avet Terteryan's "Soma. Ring of Fire " two-act opera performance which is dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Yeghishe Charents takes place on April 14.
The director of the play is an Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Armenia Armen Meliksetyan, the staging artist is Rafael Khachatryan, costume designer is Rubineh Hovhannisyan. The musical director of the performance is conductor Karen Durgaryan. Soloists: Silva Petrosyan, Lusine Makaryan, Ferdinand Muradyan, Sargis Bazhbeuk-Melikyan.
Avet Terteryan composed two operas. In “Ring of Fire” he broke the stereotypes about traditional Armenian opera, where the librettist V. Shahnazaryan connected B. Lavrentev’s “Forty-first” with Y. Charents’ “Soma” and "Epical Sunrise". Such weaving gave a special shade to the libretto. In the opera, the choir acts as a commentator, sympathizer, sympathizer, and consultant, contributing to the tense course of the plot.
