Biography
Pianist Anahit Nersesyan was born in 1954, Yerevan. In 1972 she graduated from P. Tchaikovsky music school (class of Eleonora Voskanyan), in 1977 - Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory (class of Victor Merzhanov). She took her Ph.D. in Moscow, parallelly teaching at Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory from 1977. Since 1981, she has been a soloist of Armphilharmonia.
A. Nersesyan is a laureate of a number of international competitions, such as the VI International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition (1980, First Prize and Golden Medal, Germany) and many others. She is a jury member of international competitions in Russia, Belarus, Germany, Poland, Bulgaria. She is a professor of Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory from 2003 and an Honored Artist of Armenia from 2007.
The Armenian pianist held master-classes in Japan, Poland and Russia. In 2018 she was the special guest at the University of Gedai. In 2020 she was awarded Japan Foreign Minister’s Commendation for her outstanding achievements in international fields, to acknowledge their contribution to the promotion of friendship between Japan and Armenia.
