Biography

Armenian composer of mostly orchestral, chamber and vocal works that have been performed in Europe and elsewhere. Prof. Zohrabyan studied composition with Grigor Yeghiazaryan at the Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan from 1967–72. His music has been performed in Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the USA.

He has taught as Professor of Composition at the Komitas State Conservatory since 1980.  1972-2008 he taught theoretical subjects at the Arno Babajanyan Music Pedagogical College. 

Author of chamber, instrumental, vocal-instrumental works.  

He received the degree of Professor of the Yerevan State Conservatory. 2012  he was awarded the title of Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Armenia. He was awarded the Aram Khachaturian Prize for his chamber works. Laureate of the World Armenian Congress Award. 2017 Zohrabyan was awarded the Gold Medal of the RA Ministry of Culture.
